From 9-11 December 2020, the MENTUPP Consortium met for the third time since the project started. In a three-day virtual plenary meeting, partners from 17 countries presented their progress on the MENTUPP project, in particular updates were provided on the development of the MENTUPP Intervention program, which will be housed in the MENTUPP Hub – an online platform for Small and Medium Sized enterprises in Europe and Australia to access these interventions during the MENTUPP Pilot study and Cluster Randomised Controlled Trial (cRCT). The contributions by representatives from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), as well as the MENTUPP advisory board were greatly appreciated and all parties agreed that a highly productive meeting took place.

Through detailed presentations, all partners summarized the significant achievements within each work package in the past six months. The collaboration between different work packages and small subgroups has shown to be key to project progress. Since the last plenary meeting in June 2020, emphasis was placed on how to incorporate the results from the Delphi Study into the future MENTUPP Hub, as well as how to best design, upload and deliver the content in MENTUPP Hub, e.g., by using E-learning expertise from the Articulate program. The MENTUPP Consortium agreed that in 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic has created significant challenges for individuals and companies, but it has also demonstrated the necessity and relevance of the MENTUPP intervention in Small and Medium Sized enterprises in Europe and Australia.

With the first year of the MENTUPP project successfully behind us, 2021 will also be the year when the MENTUPP Pilot Study starts. From March, the first Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Ireland, Australia, Finland, Spain, Albania, Kosovo, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Germany will get free access to the MENTUPP Hub and its contents, with the overall aim of creating a mentally healthy workplace and eradicating any existing stigmas that mental health should not be discussed in occupational settings. The project team is looking forward to the next exciting stage of MENTUPP!
